The Online Launching Ceremony for ichLinks Dedicated National Pages provides a meaningful opportunity to enhance access to intangible cultural heritage (ICH) information and promote its visibility across the Asia-Pacific region.

ichLinks, an online platform for sharing ICH information, was established to facilitate the exchange and dissemination of intangible cultural heritage information among countries in the region. However, as the platform primarily provides information in English, language barriers have limited access for users who are not proficient in English.

To address this challenge, ichLinks has introduced dedicated national pages that provide ICH information and multimedia resources in national languages. Beginning with Mongolia in the second half of 2025, these pages aim to improve public access to ICH information, enhance the visibility of national heritage, and facilitate more effective communication with local communities.

The initiative also seeks to strengthen the capacity of participating countries to manage and disseminate digital ICH content independently. By enabling countries to provide information in their national languages and encouraging greater integration of national ICH data into ichLinks, the initiative is expected to contribute to the platform’s long-term development and sustainability.

The online launching ceremony aims to officially celebrate the opening of the dedicated national pages, share the achievements of participating countries and partner institutions, and promote the newly available ICH content to a wider audience. It also provides an opportunity to raise international awareness of the initiative and highlight the importance of multilingual access to ICH information.

The event will be organized in cooperation with the National Library and Archives of Bhutan and the National Center for Cultural Heritage of Mongolia, reflecting a shared commitment to improving access to ICH information and promoting cultural diversity through digital cooperation.
