Amitanii Chuluun was born in 1946 in Bökhmörön soum, Uvs Province, Mongolia. From the age of five, he learned the Dörvöd biy biyelgee, a traditional Mongolian folk dance, from his maternal uncle Yondon. He is a fourth-generation biyelgee dancer and performs the full repertoire of Dörvöd folk dances.
In 2006, he was recognized as a Folk Talent, and in 2008, he received the title of Meritorious Cultural Figure of Mongolia. He is currently passing on the Dörvöd biyelgee tradition to more than 30 children, including his grandchildren and students, helping preserve and transmit this important cultural heritage to younger generations
